The semantic system plays a key role in interpersonal communication. Its disruption can be manifested in people with various diagnoses (aphasia, primary progressive aphasia, dementia). However, to date there has been no assessment tool designed exclusively for assessing the Czech semantic system. For this reason, the article presents the Arizona Semantic Test, which has been adopted in the Czech environment. Standards for the adult population have been established for the test. In addition, equivocal items have been identified in terms of error rates and reaction times. The next step is to standardise the Arizona Semantic Test in the Czech environment.

Keywords: semantic system, object semantics, Arizona Semantic Test, diagnostics, aphasia, primary progressive aphasia, dementia
